Bananas do not become poisonous when put in the freezer. In fact, we frequently put ones that have gotten too ripe in the freezer and then periodically, we make banana muffins. That way, the food doesn't go to waste and we have an excuse to eat these goodies ... which by the way taste really good when you add chocolate chips to the mixture. When thawed, the bananas are mushy but it works well for muffin batter.
